Puerto Jimenez, across the Golfo Dulce from Golfito, is the jumping-off place for exceptional natural history/adventure destinations. The Osa Conservation Area has an office here to help you with visits to Corcovado National Park. South of town toward the tip of the peninsula are private nature reserves well worth a visit.

Getting There
By bus: San Jose-Puerto Jimenez bus, twice daily.

By car: Take the Inter-American south through San Isidro de El General and Palmar Norte; turn west at Chacarita (north of Golfito) and go around the gulf to Puerto Jim6nez. By boat: Passenger launch between Golfito and Puerto Jim6nez, once a day each way. By air: Daily flights on Travelair and SANSA, plus charters.
