• Never leave any thing inside your rental car
• Make a copy of your passport and leave it in the safe deposit box.
• Don't carry too much money
• Don't walk at night in San Jose , Puntarenas and Puerto Limon.
• Don't wave big bills of dollars in touristy places.

Known Scam:

• When you rent a car and you have a flat tire on the first hour of your trip, you might be in a theft scam, the thieves will stop to ?help' you and rob your bags from the car. Drive to the close guest station or restaurant. ( close your windows and doors when fixing the tire.
