Esquinas Rainforest Lodge is part of a model project which combines nature conservation, rainforest research and development aid. Opened in 1994, the lodge was financed by the government of Austria and has a strong commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices as well as community development.

Each of the fourteen rooms at Esquinas Rain Forest Lodge offers a private bathroom with hot water shower, ceiling fan, full screening and a terrace.
The large main building with it?s roof made from 70,000 palm fronds has a spacious, open living room, library, bar, and a restaurant offering high-standard cuisine only a stone?s throw from the dense jungle.
The beautifull landscaped tropical garden attracts more than 200 species of birds, colorful butterflies, coatis, monkeys, iguanas, caymans and many other animals.
The chlorine-free pool has a temperature of 80 degrees F. all year around and is fed by a crystal-clear jungle stream. A 10-mile long network of well-marked trails, most of which lead through fascinating, untouched primary forest, departs directly behind the lodge. |
