Makanda by the Sea is 12 acres of sanctuary, 100 meters above the ocean. All of Makanda's Villas and Studios have been carefully placed in the botanical rainforest gardens with spectacular views of the sixty mile coastline. The contemporary design allows the guests the option of enjoying any one of the private villas or studios, or of combining the units through a series of Japanese gardens, patios and walkways to accommodate the needs of larger groups.
Villa 1:
Makanda by the Sea's open-air design was specially crafted to enhance the cooling effects of refreshing Pacific breezes. Spectacular hardwoods, vaulted ceilings and hand-crafted tiles are just a few of the added overtones of elegance that distinguishes Makanda by the Sea as no ordinary vacation getaway.
Studios 2, & 4:
Are located below and to either side of Villa 1. They both feature vaulted ceilings of precious hardwoods, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchenette, telephone, king size bed, large sofa, dining area, cable tv, cd player, hair dryer, private balcony with chairs, and a small Japanese garden.
Studio 3:
Is located directly below Villa 1, between Studios 2 and 4.
It features a fully equipped kitchenette, telephone, king size bed, large sofa, dining area, air conditioning, cable tv, cd player, hair dryer.
Villas 5, 6 & 10:
Enjoy the sights, sounds and fragrances of hundreds of varieties of local plants, birds and butterflies from your Villa's own private terrace or garden.
Villas 7 & 8:
Villa 7 is nestled into the jungle mountainside and uniquely hidden by the pool. Its location makes it ideal for monkey sighting or just relaxing and watching the sailboats pass by. Villa 8 is an elegant unit with a lovely Japanese garden. It's intimacy with the surrounding jungle allows you to enjoy your breakfast with the local wildlife, while the ocean breezes keep you comfortable.
Studios 9 & 11:
Studios 9 and 11 are located respectively below Villas 8 and 10. Their casual elegance, outstanding ocean views, and careful placement in the surrounding rainforest guarantee a relaxing stay and excellent bird watching opportunities.
