Hotel Pasatiempo Is located in Playa Tamarindo, one of Costa Rica's most beautiful Pacific beaches. Known for its friendly, congenial bar and restaurant, the hote's 14 cozy, individualized bungalows are scattered through a lush tropical landscape surrounding the hotel's private pool and just a minute's walk to a wide, white Pacific beach.

Every room opens to a covered patio with a hammock or hammock chair... you can read, take a siesta, or just be lazy and enjoy the lush landscape right at your doorstep.
Each room has an original hand-painted mural, and is decorated in a colorful, tropical motif. They come with air conditioning, as well as ceiling fans, private bath with hot water, security safes, TV and phones. Hair dryers are available at the front desk.

Pasatiempo Activities:

Surfing:

Tamarindo, once a secret spot for the surfing elite, has become a world-famous destination since the filming of "Endless Summer II." Consistent swells and offshore conditions make Tamarindo one of the most sought out pacific breaks. You can surf right off of Tamarindo or you can travel a few miles to some of the more secluded beaches, Playa Langosta, Playa Grande, Playa Avellanas.

Turtle watching:

Two beaches very close to Tamarindo, Playa Grande and Playa Langosta, are protected nesting areas for the giant leatherback turtle, and are part of the national park system. These beaches are the major nesting areas worldwide for these turtles, which arrive from October to March to lay their eggs. Hotel Pasatiempo can coordinate a tour with an official guide to visit this incredible spectacle.

Snorkeling & scub:

Discover the diverse tropical marine life of Costa Rica and a variety of Pacific scuba diving and snorkeling sites all with excellent visibility. One site is the Catalina islands, a small cluster of rocks near the southern end of the Gulf of Papagayo.

Golf:

We?re fortunate to have two great courses either of which is more than a legitimate test of any golfer. Hotel Pasatiempo has joined forces with Hacienda Pinilla to offer a special golf package to our guests of a 50% discount on a round of golf. In addition they will pick you up and deliver you back to the hotel. All you need is a decent golf game and some clubs, rental or bring your own. The course at Playa Conchal, Garra De Leon is also open to our guests and is praised by international golfers as one of the most beautiful courses they?ve ever played.
