Budget Rental Car Insurance Information

Car Rental Insurance in Costa Rica is mandatory and can be purchased from the car rental upon renting the car.

Budget Rental Car Provides three types of insurance:

1. Insurance SLI: Supplemental Liability Insurance

This insurance is mandatory. It will cover personal and properties third party liability.

Daily cost is $12.95USD

2. Insurance CDW: Collission Damage Weiver

This coverage is optional and will protect against any damage or total theft to the car, making the customer responsible for the deductible payment.

Daily cost is only $10.95USD and CDW deductible depends on car category

* CDW is void in case of negligence (drinking and driving)

3. Insurance SCDW: Super Collission Damages Weiver


This coverage is optional and will protect against any damage or total theft to the car, but the customer doesn't has to pay any deductible. If you choose to use the SCDW you don't have to buy the CDW, only the SLI.

Daily cost is $18.95USD
