| In the Tortuguero National Park there has been 11 different habitats identified which makes it one of the most biologically diverse wildlife area of this country.
The most important natural resource of this park is the water that is found in the canals and lagoons of the tropical rainforest which is very humid.
The great bio-diversity of this park makes it possible to observe very different species such as jaguars, sloths, tapirus, tepezcuintles, monkeys (white face, howler). There are also reptiles such as caimans, crocodiles, frogs and turtles (green, caray, baula and caballera).
