The service offered by Cupotico was great. The room was reserved such as asked and for good dates. The problem was with the room as such. It was dirty (walls, curtains, windows, blankets, etc.), full of ants and mosquitoes. It does not offer service of restoration. .

We would recommend Hotel El Presidente to anyone traveling to Costa Rica, and looking for a hotel in the heart of San Jose. $17 cab service to or from the Airport, helpful and efficient staff, a generous and delicious complimentary breakfast, and clean comfortable spacious rooms. We would certainly stay at El Presidente again. .

El Presidente is a beautiful marble fortress of a hotel in the heart of San Jose. We stayed there both at the beginning and end of our vacation. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean, The breakfast was ezcellent, tropical fruits, eggs cooked to order, breads, rice and beans, and fresh juces, not to mention great Costa Rican coffee. We enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi and steam room, The hotel is on a pedestrian avenue in San Jose, it is easy to walk to the various parks and museums in the area. The staff was very helpful, arranging our tours and transportation.El Presidente is very modern, with excellent security. .

19 Mar 2008: visit hotel's page: Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura
I'm already booked at the Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura for three nights in early July. I've checked out all the hotel's websites in hopes of learning precisely where the hotel is located, but none of the sites provides that information. The closest I come is "five miles from the airport and close to San Jose." That is not good enough. In all other respects the websites give all the information anyone could desire. Why not a map that lets people know where the hotel is?.

We enjoyed staying at "Hotel Verde Mar". All stuff were kind, especially the reception were excellent. They're always good sorts and take care of us. The room was wide and the bathroom was clean. The only thing we didn't like was about sewerage. Whenever we used the tap, water appeared on the floor of the bedroom..

The sink drains were very loud, even from adjoining rooms. There was poor sound barrier between rooms. The pool was very nice, as were the staff. food was good. .

13 Mar 2008: visit hotel's page: Montana de Fuego
My stay at Montana del Fuego was disappointing. When we checked in one of the rooms was not correct. We reserved a triple, but they only gave us two doubles. The other issue with the hotel was the fact that both hot tubs were not working properly. The outdoor hot tub was completely out of commission, and the second one (which was located inside the spa) had only a tepid water temperature. When I complained to the management about this situation, there were horribly unhelpful. The wanted to engage in an argument with me in the hotel lobby and did little to try and rectify the situation. I would not recommend this hotel, and tell people that if they can just spend the extra money and stay at Tabacon. .

13 Mar 2008: visit hotel's page: El Diria
The Diria had very nice amenities. The room was not very comfortable. Basically a hotel room. The service desk was very impersonal. The food was very good. Fantastic Breakfast included. We really felt like a number at this resort. The location was good, in the heart of Tamarindo. The tour desk was very helpful too The pool across the street was very nice. The swim up bar was great, when open. It closed very early and the bartender wasn't very friendly. .

Bungalow 1 was very clean, comfortable, private. Great food, great service. The grounds were very well kept, with very nice private beach. Nice for wild life too. The Honeymoon bungalow was a great disappointment. It had an influx of ants, The windows wouldn't open. It was back in a corner with no view of the ocean as stated on their website. The bed loft was not romantic at all. We felt the standard bungalow was much more romantic. We actually received a partial refund due to our dissatisfaction. The resort was very accommodating to satisfy us. .

12 Mar 2008: visit hotel's page: La Colina
La Colina was an excellent choice. The room was small but adequate, the view, beautiful, and the staff was very helpful. I had a car and the location was fine for going to Manuel Antonio Park, restaurants and the town of Quepos. The only problem that I had was the number of steps to get to the room, although my son and his friend did not have that problem. The included breakfast was excellent and other meals were as well. The laundry option and internet use were also welcome. I would reccomend La Colina to others. Joe Lerner, NYC.

10 Mar 2008: visit hotel's page: Tropico Latino
The property at the Tropico Latino is lovely; it's a beautiful hotel. But my friends stayed in the cabina #11, off in the woods, and it is VERY UNSAFE. We were robbed in the middle of the night, while we were sleeping. In the morning, the staff didn't acknowledge that they need to increase security in those cabinas, so I would recommend that you request a room closer to the main lodge, or check to make sure there are a bolts on your doors, as the current lock system is insufficeient in the jungle in Santa Teresa. Tropico Latino needs to provide more security on its property. Cabina #11 was not the only cabin hit by the robbers in the middle of the night on March 8, there were other hotel guests who slept in fear that night as well. *I should note that I was actually a guest down the street at Casa Zen, which, as a hostel is very safe, but that I slept at my friends cabina on the night of the robbery because we had gone out together and I didn't feel safe walking to Casa Zen alone. .

Our nights at your hotel this past week were great. Service great as usual. Only one minor gliche with getting a van timely on Friday morning to catch our flight to Tamarindo. Had to wait too long and almost missed flight. All else was great. Food very good. Service very good. Like the new renovations. All in all a rating of 9.5. We?ll be back soon.

Location was very good, and the breakfast facilities and staff very pleasant and good to work with. The room was large and the view good, but the bed and other facilities only adequate. It was a wonderful stay bacause we had friends in the same complex, and one of the rooms had a full kitchen. If we were there by ourselves, I probably would try a different place. .

04 Mar 2008: visit hotel's page: Arenal Lodge
This was a wonderful, relaxing stay. The rooms (we had to change for the second night) were really much bigger than we needed, but both had great views straight out to the volcano. The restaurant and veranda also had wonderful views, and we saw packs of wild pigs and coatis cross the open lawn below us, as well as identified dozens of birds in the garden. We ended up not even leaving the grounds the first day--just sat on the porch and walked out to the butterfly house and took the trail down along the stream under the tall trees. We were also pleased with the food and the staff in the restaurant. The tour we took the second day was expensive, but allowed us to see things we would never have seen on our own. We would go back. .

The El Diria Hotel where I stayed { I was in the older part of the hotel and prefered it there ],was very nice . The facility was well maintained and ,very clean ,.The staff was very friendly ,kind and professional .The restuarant malaputo was very good ,clean and a nice variety of food available . I enjoyed the beach ,surf and local tours .My week in Tamarindo was great and i enjoyed it fully. My only hope is that with all the new development ,that this bit of paradise doesn,t get spoiled . Keep it as is --just get the street repaired..

29 Feb 2008: visit hotel's page: Hotel Pine Tree
The people at the Hotel Pine Tree were all very nice. The rooms are clean, but a little run down. The pool was empty and according to the staff, they had been waiting for some weeks for it to be repaired. I didn't care that much, but I would have been very upset if I had been traveling with children and the pool was unusable. Overall, if you're looking for a very inexpensive place to stay, the Pine Tree Hotel is a good deal for the money..

24 Feb 2008: visit hotel's page: La Mariposa
We loved Costa Rica and enjoyed our stay there immensely. While La Mariposa is a lovely hotel, it was not my favorite. The pool was great, but service was super slow and the beach is not easily accessible. To be fair, We are beach people, more than pool people?so we are biased. Our room was super fancy and modern but not very Costa Rican...the glass wall offers a fantastic view of the ocean but no privacy. The bathroom was beautiful but not practical?no mirror or light, dark walls and the water from shower goes everywhere. Greg liked the modern take and the glass walls but he didn?t mind that your neighbors on either side can see you naked! I liked the older rooms better and the Penthouse is great. We were there for a wedding and they did an absolutely wonderful job. The food is great too! Again, Dayana at Cupotico was WONDERFUL!.

We absolutely loved Bungalows Tulemar! The bungelows were cute, spacious and very comfortable. The housekeepers make up the rooms with care and always leave cute ?towel creatures? like swans and happy faces. The private beach is fantastic and we had a great time kayaking, drinking birras and chatting with Claudio & David. The food is amazing, fresh and everyone is super friendly. Special thanks to Claudio, the best beach bartender EVER, David and Fabio. Pura Vida!.

My trip was great. The Luz de Vida hotel is great and in a great location. The staff were terrific. I did have my backpack stolen while sleeping in a hammock right there on the property. But, I count that as my fault. I was too trusting and careless. Other than that, the vacation was a delight. I'm ready to go back again soon. Sincerely,.

I stayed here for a few days on a tour of Costa Rica with the EcoTeach educational group. It was a spring break school trip for my Science Club. I really liked this hotel. The only problem we had was that the showers flooded every time we used them. However, it was one of the few places we stayed with hot running water, so that was good enough for me. I loved the food and the chef was really nice. We also went to her private restaurant for some Caribbean flavor. The grounds are gorgeous with flowers everywhere. I loved the pool too. I caught a lizard outside our room, and there were geckos climbing all over the ceilings, which really helped minimize the mosquitoes. All in all, it was one of my favorite hotels on the trip..

Unfriendly personnel with prison like rooms. Long distance away from Manuel Antonio beaches. Lack of telephone, internet, and security boxes contribute to isolation. Your choice is their restaurant or a long walk to someplace else. Basically you're at their mercy and they know it..

The staff is very good, and the hotel is beautiful. My only problem is..THE POOL!!!- Im SUPER lucky to have ONLY, broken my left arm/wrist, while getting out the hotel pool, to get the ball,(and back into the game of pool/volleyball they provide.) Other hotel guests' stated, that the pool's slippery tile floor was "No good too have around a pool!" .

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. The Garden court is a great pick for close to the airport. The intersection outside the Garden Court is VERY DANGEROUS! Capitan Suizo is amazing! What a great choice! The staff, the grounds, the architecture, our rooms, the service and the beach were a complete delight. Our only problem was between you and Capitan Suiza on how many nights we were booked for. I was so thankful they had 1 room and 1 room only for us to have on the night of the 26th. I also appreciated how you interfaced with me and the hotel to get it all figured out. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, professionalism and flexibility. Kris King .

Hello, From the USA. Yes we had a GREAT time at Arenal Observatory Lodge. It is was the highlight of our two week trip through Costa Rica. We loved the accommodations, the beautiful walks through the forest, the food, the people and most of all watching the Volcano go off every night while we lay in bed watching. Thank You Cupotico for making our trip a wonderful memory for all of us. Sincerely, The Clarks and The Gages. .

23 Jan 2008: visit hotel's page: Florblanca
We were very much looking forward to staying at Florblanca. I received an email about a week prior to our leaving saying that construction went over schedule and there would be a bit of construction still going on when we were going to be at Florblanca. The email stated "the construction is occurring away from the main part of the resort. We will be additionally limiting working hours during your stay and much of the work being done now will be hand work rather than heavy equipment. We hope any interruption will be slight." When we arrived, we were taken on a tour of the property....very nice property. Then we arrive at our villa. Right next to which is a big green divider where construction is occurring. I was surprised at this because they said the construction would be away from the resort. I asked what time construction started in the morning. "8 am", she replied. OK, not horrendous, I thought. I didn't want to ruin my trip before it even began. Next morning, 6:30am we get woken up by some power tool. I called the front desk and asked them why it was starting so early. "Oh, they're not supposed to be starting until 8." And this was the same response I got for 5 days. So, 5 out of the 7 days we stayed at Florblanca, we were awoken by this racket. They offered to pay for our dinner the last night we were there as an apology. OK. Nice enough. We get back home and go over our bill and they charged us an additional $120+ for our room than what was agreed upon. I inquired about this and they said it was because the colones exchange rate. They advertise in dollars and then charge another amount in colones that doesn't equal the amount they advertise. So be careful of this. It is a shame because we travel a lot and this hotel has a lot of potential. The location is nice (minus the construction) and the restaurant is really good. It is a shame they don't want repeat business..

15 Jan 2008: visit hotel's page: Linda Vista Del Norte
Thank you, we did have a wonderful time. In fact, we were not ready to leave on our scheduled flight; so, we stayed two extra days. The weather was not the normal for Dec/Jan. It was colder and more windy than what we are used to. We were not as impressed with Linda Vista Del Norte this time around. I understand creepy crawlies are expected; but, our room had more than we could withstand. We had to clean out the bugs prior to going to sleep each night. We couldn't even enjoy sitting on our outside patio, because we would get attacked. The room was not kept up as it was two years ago. The walls had smashed insects all over them and the dust everywhere was just not acceptable. We were so excited to have the Churasco(spelling ?) steak again, as it was just out of this world two years ago; however, we were so dissapointed this time around. It was half the size and very tough. We will not eat that again. On a good note, the staff was a pleasure: Walter, Marvin, Jose and the front desk person, Brian. We also enjoyed the new pool, it was beautiful. It would have been better if the pool bar was open. .

We were pleasantly surprised by the Adventure Inn and especially the over accommodating staff. They are great! The cleanliness and appearance was also great. The only challenges we ran into were some bad eggs (but they were very accommodating with additional substitute) and some very loud music for the breakfast (which they promptly turned down on my request). Thank you for all of your assistance and concern. Susan .

Our 3 day stay at the Luna Llena hotel in Tamarindo was WONDERFUL! We found the bungalow to be very comfortable and accomodating to our needs. Loved the hotel and the staff was very nice and the location was great because it was near the airport. We had a little trouble finding it but that was mainly our fault because we didn't get directions because we were supposed to be following our friends who were in a bus with a driver and we went a different direction. The free breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again. Thank you,.

At first glance the place gives you the feeling of a tree house effect. Very beautiful. But then, Lots of steps, that din't seem to bother us, however, no water pressure did!, or when there was NO water, that was worse! WE asked other guests at other Hotels if they expierenced this problem, and they always said no! So, there you have that!...The restauant has a very bland menu, scimpy portions, and we guess we expected a real Costa Rican Break fast, with sweet Breads and warm milk with our coffee, silly liitle things like that, but that never came to be. My husband and I were moved to a different room at different times, we weren't happy about that, then charged more. WE didn't get that system. The owners need to upgrade bad before the place falls on them..

The trip was great and we enjoyed the hotel. I would rate the overall score at about a 7 - out of 10 being the best. it looks like you could use some maintenance on the pool cabana thatched roofs and some new paint in general - as far as looks go everything else was very nice. One thing to note was that I almost got double charged for the room. The gentleman working at the front desk did not seem to notice that I had reserved the room and paid for it already on line with the pay-pal system and asked me again for my credit card. I had to remind him that I did indeed already submit my card online, and after a few minutes of looking around in the reservation system he said "you're right. You did pay already" so we avoided that... Otherwise, everyone was very nice and friendly and if we only had some good waves it would have been a 100% suceesful trip. Pura Vida! .

The service, food and room was way beyond our expectations. Great job by all your staff with the exception of those invloved at the front desk. We booked a taxi to San Jose and we met the driver in the lobby. We talked with the reception staff to get directions and were on our way. The taxi was disgusting and the driver got lost. He had to hail another cab and we followed him. The driver got very very angry when we handed him our receipt because he was not the driver who was supposed to pick us up. At one point we were concerned for our safety. I am amazed someone did not notice at reception or the gate it was the wrong taxi service. .

15 Oct 2007: visit hotel's page: Hotel Ave Del Paraiso
My trip went fine. I do have a couple of comments: About the hotel: Ave del Paraiso is a lovely hotel, but after having stayed there several times in the last 5 years or so, I find that the hotel facilities and the services haven't changed much. Except for the Internet access --now better than before-- and the addition of the Cafe Kracovia --which offers a good alternative for meals-- they still manage the hotel from a book where they register everything with a pencil. Last time I went there, they didn't have any records of my reservation, which I had made with Cupo Tico well in advance, so I had to go to a different hotel (this happened at midnight, and I was travelling with a small child.) And then, small things, like the towels are still too thin (and small); they don't have a toaster in the kitchen, in spite of clients' requests, who prefers their bread toasted. The staff is very nice and helpful, though. About Cupo Tico: By the time I checked out, Hotel del Paraiso hadn't received my payment from Cupo Tico. I do recognize that Cupo Tico makes it easy to book a room online, but it'd feel better if this diligent service were so for the whole process. Thanks for offering the opportunity to express my opinion. .

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Tres Banderas for 5 weeks this summer. We LOVED our experience there and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The meals are excellent, especially if Derek is your chef. The menu has a wide variety of food, even polish, as the owner is polish. The pool was our favorite part of the hotel, it is huge, cleaned every few hours, and has nice shade to read a book, but plenty of sunny spots to tan. The day bartender was excellent, and gave us great ideas on which tours to go on, and where the local hot spots were. The owner, Andy, was very accommodating to our needs, and was very personable. The hotel is very reasonably priced, and is a perfect location because it is right in between Quepos and the beach at Manuel Antonio. Also, it is extremely close to COSI (a spanish language school my husband attended). The rooms have hot water, cable, air conditioning and a lovely balcony. The beds are decent, as is the furniture. .

Dear friends at Cupotico, Our trip to Costa Rico was even better than we had anticipated. Very little of the predicted rain in the afternoon; very friendly and helpful people wherever we went. If there is one complaint it concerns Hotel Costa Verde. The people working the front desk when we arrived were in no way welcoming or helpful. They bordered on rude. The attitude improved somewhat by the third day, with a much more helpful staff the day we left. We did miss having a phone in the room, even just to talk to someone at the desk. Having to walk to the reception desk with even a small request or question was most inconvenient. Other than that, the rooms were beautiful, the cleaning staff were friendly, the restaurant was quite lovely and the food was excellent. The Interbus arrangements you made for us went smoothly; the driver was courteous and the ride comfortable. I credit the success of the trip to the friendly and extremely helpful people at Cupotico. Astrid Herrera solved all our problems and put our minds at ease so we could fully enjoy the trip. Thank you again for all your help. Sincerely .

I like Fuego del Sol hotel, it is very good, and services were great. It would be perfect place if they have a small refrigirator in the room, just to store few beers. Somehow your web site http://www.cupotico.com/coupons/hotels/hotel178/hotel178.html shows that rooms have refrigirators, maybe it is out of date. Otherwise everything was great. Thank you, .

The Sandpiper Hotel is the best place to stay for surfing and a good time. It was our first time in Costa Rica for surfing and we had so much fun. The hotel is so relaxing, laid back and you felt like family. Everyone got to know each other and hung out together. You walk right out the hotel room door and the surf was right there. Come back have a little food and relax!!!!! I would return to the Sandpiper Hotel on my next trip!!!.

Scoring an 8.5! That's a good score from my point of view, definitely Los Pinos have beautiful gardens, a quiet environment and well taking care cabins! They are comfortable and well located, close to Santa Elena, with a good space and electrical equipment. Bad things? Well, definitely this cabins have very nice details but in the other hand there are some things that seem to be a bit too old or that need to be changed like the bathrooms furniture that out of the rest of the furniture looks a bit crappy, the microwave oven number screen was totally out and there was a coffee maker that had no coffee maker bags so it was a bit weird, the shower terminal was a bit out of shape so there where like 3 huge water flows but it would have been better to have them as a regular shower so the only thing that needs to be done is change it... No mayor issues that's for sure, guys I can give you my word that this places is beautiful and definitely will be in the top of my list for my next visit to Monteverde! CHEERS!!.

We are back from our trip to Costa Rica and had a wonderful time. Your country is beautiful. Personally I loved the waterfall at La Fortuna the best, but the Volcanoes, and adventure sports were also a blast. I can tell you I wasn't quite prepared for the road situation. I had been told roads were bad but didn't quite understand that many were only dirt and rock for miles, and miles with such huge holes in them the cars can only go a few miles an hour. I don't have a problem with that per se just that it made traveling much more difficult and time consuming. The accommodations at Harbor Reef were fine. The staff was very nice. Peole in Costa Rica in general are very nice, although again the language barrier is hard at times. I did have to brush up on my limited Spanish. I think a little more information to travelers would be good. For example, we flew out of the "airport" at Nosara. It would of been nice to know before hand that it isn't an airport, just a landing strip in the middle of a cow pasture. It was fine, the flight was actually great on Sansa, but we were a bit taken back when we drove up and saw the conditions. If we were prepared it might have been nicer. Thank you for setting up the hotel at Harbor Reef at least that experience was easy and we did thoroughly enjoy our stay. .

I have no complaints about the hotel (Mar de Luz). The people were great and worked very hard to provide great service. I loved Costa Rica and the people. You have a great country. I especially want to thank Astrid and David Cyrman. Astrid was a big help in making my reservations. David and his driver were great in answering my questions and making me feel at home. David is a very intelligent and hard working man. All of the prices seemed appropriate and I had no problems at the Hotel, the beach, the restaurants, bars, drive to the airport or with any of the people. You should be proud of a country with such great people. I plan on returning to Costa Rica soon and I will chose Cupotico to help with the reservations. Thanks for everything Paul Zimmer PS Costa Rica has very beautiful women!.

Thank you for your hospitality. A beautiful hotel, we stayed 4 nights in June, this was my fifth trip to Costa Rica, third time surfing in Jaco and Esterillos, the landscaping and the room was beautiful. It was expensive for the area and there were several problems. First, my daughter was looking forward to using the Yoga facility with daily classes however this didn't exist. We managed to get one private class from Diana and use the yoga room which was damaged and being worked on. The floor was coming off and in the process of repair but definitly not being used. There was no restaurant, no bar, no gift shop open, no computer or internet to use, it looked like someone, not us, was using "Limewire" to download a lot of music and probably viruses along with it, we were told and they had to remove the computer to fix it. The Beach was NOT a five minute walk as you say, it is no less than 15 to 20 minutes at a fast pace. Taxis were easy to get and not expensive, the staff was very pleasant and accomodating to us. Breakfast was delivered promptly and was very good but even when we asked for two coffees instead of one, and two milks, we always got one and they had to go back, one day we had butter the next day none, one day there was jam the other days none. Construction started at 7 AM right next to our room. If there was to be building on the pool bathrooms why give us room number one? We were the only people there for 3 of the days. Put us in a room away from the construction. Your security was very good, the taxi drivers had to pass inspection everytime they passed the gate. But I was lying outside at 3 AM by the pool ( not in the pool) and was told by security that it wasn't safe to be outside and for my safety I should go back to my room. I am sure that during the busier season or during special retreats, the place must be really fun, Though it is a beautiful property there were these above mentioned problems. Thanks for listening. Also it might be a good idea to let the guests know the approximate taxi fare to let's say Mas x Menos instead of waiting for the driver to tell you fares anywhere from 500 colones to 1200 colones, since you are making the trip 2-3 times a day. I would stay there again if there was a special yoga/meditation/surfing retreat of some kind and the hotel assured us that it was fully functioning so there would be no surprises. Sincerest thanks for your hospitality again, John Kaufmann .

We were at las Tecas around Easter with my mom and two little kids. I t was my mom's birthday, and the Nosara Hotel lost our reservations; It was hot and humid and...we met Jay and his wife!what a great bunch!...they greet us and made us feel wanted and appreciatted during our stay. The cabin at las tecas was confortable; nice, big and clean. We got really lucky and all my family had the greatest time ever. Thanks to you guys. We recommend las tecas...and is the only place that offers best hospitality in Nosara. Sincerely...Helena Garcia Cosby.

Just got back from my first trip to Costa Rica. Besides the beautiful country I was extremely disappointed with management and lack of customer service. I arrived with a group of colleagues looking for a summer break from teaching all year long and we didn't find that at this hotel. The property is beautiful but the staff took away the beauty. We checked in and the staff gave us a hard time during check in and in was worse when we asked for basic commodities, like an iron. Would not recommend this hotel, would have received better service at a much less expensive hotel down the road. .

First, the pool in under construction, the webste said it was finished but that is a LIE. So, it is really loud, drills, pounding, and construction workers everywhere. Second, the sheets are too small for the beds, so your feet have to touch this bed coverlet, which didn't seem very clean. Third, when our room safe did not work, they refused to move us to a room that had a working safe. It is not a nice place and food is awful..

I enjoyed our stay up until the point we left. The cab showed up right on time. I went into the reception area with the cab driver and we spent 20 minutes with the two different staff members to get the right directions to the house we were going to in San Jose. I gave the taxi voucher to the guard at the gate as we left. I was somewhat concerned with the disgusting condition of the cab when we got in and he drive like a maniac. He got lost in San Jose and we circled for what seemed hours. He finally stopped and asked another cab driver how to get the our destination. Finally the driver became very angry when we did not want to pay him since we paid the hotel $100 for the ride. My wife and I were very afraid he was going to become violent. As it turns out he was not the right cab but no one at Villa Caletas bothered to notice this as we prepared to leave with him. The socre of 7 is just due to this experience..

19 Jun 2007: visit hotel's page: Boyeros
Hola, cupotico, Thank you for your letter of inquiry about my vacation in Costa Rica. My granddaughter and I had a wonderful time, in spite of the incessant rain during our 13 days in Monteverde. The hotel Boyeros was good. I should have asked for a ground floor room, as there is no lift, and no-one to help an old abula get her suitcase up a long steep flight of stairs, except my granddaughter. The Lonely Planet guidebook described the rooms at the Hotel Boyeros as more luxurious than we found them, but the room was certainly adequate, and the beds were comfortable. The swimming pool is wonderful, and the pool area very clean, tidy and well kept, and we enjoyed it very much. The restaurant was good. The best about the hotel, and certainly this is the most important, was the people who worked there, behind the desk and in the restaurant. They were friendly, polite and helpful when we asked for help, particularly in allowing us to use the front desk telephone with our phone card when the card would not work in any of the outside public telephones. The front desk people also exchanged money for us at the exchange rate and took no commission, so that was very nice, too. We only stayed there one night but I would certainly stay there again. I would score the hotel a 9. In San Jose we stayed at the Taylor Inn B&B for two nights at the end of our two weeks in Costa Rica. It was very comfortable, convenient to what we wanted to see in San Jose, and had pleasant, helpful staff. Both evenings in San Jose we walked around the corner from Taylor Inn and had our evening meal at the Hotel Britannia. Friday night we each had a full dinner and it was delicious. Fresh salad and good cooked dinner, although there was only one other person dining there. Saturday evening we went back, although neither of us was very hungry, having eaten a good lunch in town at the Hotel Balmoral. We were both very tired. I asked the waiter if there was any other soup than the French Onion listed on the menu, and he offered to make us some chicken soup. A few minutes later we were served one of the best bowls of chicken soup I have ever eaten, with fresh, crisp cooked vegetables and spoon sized pieces of chicken. So cheers for the Britannia Hotel Restaurant! And cheers for their waiter! I'd go there again, too. The best part of the trip was 12 days in Monteverde, being students at the Instituto Monteverde, and staying with a wonderful Tico family. Even if the road is NEVER paved, I'd love to go back there again. .

Rio Las Perlas is a first class hotel. The rooms are roomy and well furnished. The restaurant and bar and very nice, yet casual, with high quality meals at reasonable prices. Service is excellent. The highlight of Rio Las Perlas is the beautiful setting in the mountains with extraordnary landscaping on the extensive grounds of the property. The property includes trout fishing lakes which are full of full of fish and offer great fishing for novices and veterans alike. The hotel also offers miles of hiking trails into the higher elevations. Set in the Orosi Valley, Rio Las Perlas is off the beaten path, but is well worth a visit for a couple of days while in Costa Rica..

Wow, this is heaven on earth. The scenery is breathtaking and the service is impeccable. You will enjoy walking on the beach or laying by the pool. The golf course is fantastic and everywhere you turn they are they to mist you with Evian or offer a cool "lemon" scented towel. The rooms are beautiful with a screen door you can open or close to your private patio. ENJOY!!!.

02 Jun 2007: visit hotel's page: Giardino Tropicale
Our trip the Costa Rica was like a slice of Heaven, especially for my husband who had lived in Nosara for several years back in the the late 80's and early 90's. Once he stopped crying about all of the changes (bank, laundry mat, phones, realators etc.) he came to realise the beauty of Nosara still lies in the warmth and friendliness of theTico's and the beauty of the land and ocean! Yes, you can deffently say we all enjoyed the experience! Our stay with Marcel at the Giardine Tropicale was very nice and comfortable. We would rate our stay an 8 on the scale of 1-10. You have asked us for our opinionand comments of the Hotlel and I can not say enough on how welcoming and helpful Marcel was to us. The reason I gave an 8 and not a 10 was 2 very minor things. The hotel offers airconditioning for an extra price(witch we did not need but surely would be glad to have available in the summer) however, I only wish that they would offer hot water upon request as well. I do appreciate the fact that they use solar power, but it would be nice to offer the use of electricity when in need of a hot shower. Also, the hotel is beautifuly constructed and lanscaped, with a wonderful resturant upstairs and a great breakfast by the pool. We did find the pool area very pretty, however, uninviting to use and found ourselves going elsewhere to lounge.(maybe that is the idea!) However, I do enjoy sitting in comfortable lounge chair around the pool after a day of fun in the sun. Not to say the rooms were not comfortable, they were, but it is nice to kick back other places other than your room. I would highly recommend staying at the Giardine Tropicale to any of my friends or family. I do have an added note. We eat anything and everything while we were in Nosara. From deliciouse fish and chicken dinners at the the Giardino Tropicale to spa meals at the Harmony and fantatic fish with beans and rice at Olga's. What I do want you to pass along is that we stayed at the Occidental in Papagio by the Liberia airport (not knowing where to stay and forgot to ask Marcel) and both myself and my husband became VERY ill the next morning after eating at there buffet they offered at the Occidental. That was one looong plane ride home and we have been home now for 3 days now and still are having to run to the bathroom.....Hindside, we should of known better that eat at a buffet but all other resturants at the hotel were full, so be wear!!!
Okay, I think I've said enough. Thank you again for your help with our wonderful stay in Nosara!.

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. The Mar de Luz did a great job taking care of issues we had and corrected them as soon as they could. The workers on the grounds were fantastic. The owner Victor was a perfect gentleman and host as was his staff. As an outsider and an investment realtor for commercial properties there are improvements I would make to help save long term expenses for the hotel but overall it was a most pleasant experience. Thank you for taking care of our arrangements and I will highly recommend your agency for any further travel plans..

What would be reasonable prices if it truly was a 5 star resort, as claimed by them, turns out to be a waste of money for the area. While they have a beautiful location and nice natural hot springs, the accommodations and services are seriously lacking. After arriving and choosing our room, we were left to find out that there were no towels or air conditioning. They did bring towels, but no matter what the request it takes more than 30 minutes for the bellman to get to you. After dinner (which in no way resembles a 5 star resort meal - more like cafeteria meal) my wife became ill and immediately expunged the fish she had eaten. Upon trying to get some water from the sink, all that came out was a slow flow with tons of dirt. After flushing the toilet a couple of times, the water was completely out. Calling to the front desk to explain resulted in getting hung-up on and then having our line disconnected. Miraculously 15 minutes before we checked out the water and phone started working and they claimed they had never heard of this before. After a calm description of our difficulties at this 5-star resort, they refused to reduce our bill. 1 night, food-poisoning, no shower, no water at FULL price - what a deal. Definitely choose one of the other bed and breakfasts or small hotels in the area over this farce of a 5-star resort. .

Beautifully located. Great food. BUT THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!! Service needs improvement especially at the front desk. It's definitely lacking. Don't ask them to arrange transportation to the airport unless you're fluent in Spanish, otherwsie you'll never make it home. Restaurant service was better. I don't recommend the spa especially the stone massage.....too much money for below average service. Bed sheets need to be inspected before laying in it. The sheets were stained and had cigarette holes..

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. All of our reservations were smooth, everything was set up properly. What could have been different is someone telling us what to expect as far as the roads and the time it would take to drive from place to place. Had I known some of this I would have planned things a little differently. Two nights in each place is a must. Andres was very helpful as well as Carolina Gomez. I would recommend friends to use your service, however I would encourage your people to be really upfront with customers about how bad the roads are and how very few are unmarked. WE LOVED IT. The kitchen is great to have, but the beds are very uncomfortable, and there is really no benefit to being right on the beach, as Jaco beach is very dirty, and dangerous at night. Also, there was no TV in the room. The pool is small but fairly clean, and the bathrooms are ok (low water pressure but passable). Other than the beds, I found it an excellent home base, and spent a lot of time hanging out by the pool and in the room..

This place is amazing! The tour guide(Leo), was a plethera of information on local flora/fauna and animals. The trek up Mount Tortuguero is fun, but hard. There is a bar that has limited hours and only one bartender, but with great drinks, you can't beat it. The zip-lining here is not for those afraid of heights, but those that love the rainforest, should not miss it. It's a quick ride over to the next lodge to partake of spa facilities. Beware, once you have had your "chocolate massage", there is no hot water in the showers to rinse the chocolate off. It's just the right size place, only 30 rooms. It makes their customer service shine..

We had a great time. The room was very nice and clean and spacious. The people at the hotel were very nice and the restaraunt had very good service and food. There wasn't coffee in the rooms or room service at 5am when we had to leave for the airport but we found some coffee downstairs. There wasn't transportation to or from the airport but there were taxi's waiting 24 hours a day which was nice. I would say the only drawback was that the noise outside of the rooms was loud since there is a casino in the hotel. We could hear people yelling throughout the night. There was some kind of drilling or construction work inside the hotel in the late afternoon/early evening that was loud so it was hard to take a nap. I would recommend this hotel as long as you know not to go out after dark but there is enough to do at the hotel so you don't need to anyway.........................3/2/07.

COSTA RICA IS BEAUTIFUL. HOTEL PRESIDENTE IS OK. THERE WERE MINOR PROBLEMS NOT CAUSED BY THE HOTEL. AMERICAN AIRLINES LOST MY LUGGAGE AND THE STAFF OF AA AT SAN JOSE WAS NOT HELPFUL OR FRIENDLY. THE RECEPTION AREA NEEDS A RAMP UP. THEY ARE NOT FRIENDLY OR CAPABLE. ONE OF THE RECEPTION STAFF-MALE, THREW A CARD ON TH COUNTER WHEN I REPORTED IT LOST. HE REPLACED AND THREW IT ON THE COUNTER IN A VERY DEMEANING MANNER. THE TOUR DESK- KARA IS GOOFY AND UNRELIABLE. IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO MAKE TOUR ARRANGEMENT THE STAR PERFORMERS IN THIS HOTEL ARE THE CASINO STAFF AND THE RESTAURANT STAFF. THE RESTAURANT STAFF ARE PROFESSIONAL AND DEDICATED. THE CHAMBER MAID WAS SO-SO. I HAD TO REQUEST TOWELS. I GIVE THE HOTEL A 6 ON A SCALE OF 1-10- 10 BEING THE HIGHEST. THANK YOU ZULMA .

We had a wonderful time at Mimo's Hotel. The owner & the entire staff were attentive, friendly, hospitable & helpful. The food was amazing! Make sure that you try the pizzas and various Italian dishes! The rooms were beautifully styled & comfortable. A great value! The location is very convenient: it's right off the main road to Manuel Antonio offering a bus stop less than a block away. The cost is only 110 colones (about 25 cents). Those that are very sensitive to noise, may want to request rooms in the back. But it didn't bother us. Say hello to Jon Carlos, Rebecca, Juliani, Angelo & especially David. Highly recommended! We'll be back. Lilly & Garrett. Seattle, Washington USA. .

La Colina was a beautiful, natural hotel and we enjoyed our stay there very much. We had breakfast on the deck amidst flowers and hummingbirds every morning. Hello We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica and would recommend it highly to all our friends. We loved the location of your hotel. We just felt that the room needed updating with paint. Kitchen needed cleaning. We would love to come for more than one night because of the location but would not unless fixed up..

The Evergreen Lodge was great, good food. We loved the remote "Rainforest" setting. One problem we had was that the bar was noisy and did not complement the "Rainforest" setting, they should get rid of the TV and radio if they want it to be an actual "Rainforest" setting. .

02 Feb 2007: visit hotel's page: Luz de Vida
Did a lot of looking before we planned the trip and booked somewhere else, only to find ourselves making other reservations at Luz de Vida because we hated our first pick. The rooms are very clean, with refrigerator, a/c, and your own phone. The grounds around the hotel are kept immaculate, the pool is beautiful, and immaculate, and the beach is located right in front. There are hammocks on the beach to enjoy the sea breeze/Siesta. There is also a game area with brand new pool table (We watched it being delivered) fooseball table and ping-pong when it gets dark and don't feel like venturing off to far. THe family that owns the hotel live right next door and their hospitality was great. Just wishing I would have taken advantage of the Massage. They have their own cabana on the beach just for it! The only thing I would say is that the food in the restaurant is overpriced, but there are plenty of other local restaurants nearby, as well as the supermarket down the road. The surf was great, and the accessability to all the major breaks was nice also. I would highly, highly recommend this place. Couples and families. Our room had 2 queen beds and one twin! .

I have spent the most 2 beautiful weeks at this hotel. The friendliness of the personnel, the room where sparkling clean. All of the staff we meet where very polite and respectfull. The food was excellent especially the spaghetti night with Fran?ois. The restaurant in the village where very good and friendly. The security in the village was not a problem. We were swimming with the locals and shopping with the locals IT WAS GREAT.... I would recommend this place to anyone that would like time to themselves and have a good time..

We liked our stay in Bramadero. Our room was comfortable and clean. The food in their restaurant was delicious and service very good. Compared to other neighborhood hotels, we found the room rates a little high --- I can stay for less in a better hotel in the US! .

My husband (John) and I stayed at Sueno del Mar in late October of last year while traveling through Costa Rica on our honeymoon. We had an absolutely wonderful time! We still listen to the CDs you burned for us -- they bring back great memories of a wonderful trip. You had recommended Flor Blanca which we also enjoyed immensely. You had raised the bar though -- the help at Flor Blanca did not compare with your friendly, warm nature!! It seems like my most vivid memories of Costa Rica are rooted at Sueno del Mar... the leatherback turtles nesting, the river boat tour, great breakfasts, cool music, lazy days by the pool, and your friendly (but unubtrusive) company! Thank you so much for making our stay so special. I hope that we will return some day soon! Warm Regards, Sarah and John Newton .

Tui absolutely made our visit to Costa Rico fabulous..she was so gracious and hospitable that we loved coming for breakfast, to buy gifts and just to visit her while we were in town for w eek. All 7 of us found her so informative and knowledgeable about the country..More importantly she arranged for us to go to the Rain Forrest and it was a memory of a lifetime..We are telling all of our friends about your lovely bed and breakfast and about Tui... If we come back I feel as if I have made a new life long friend ... Her husband was especially helpful too. I loved meeting them both and hope to have the opportunity to visit Costa Rico again soon.. Sincerely Jean and John Laughlin (Memphis Tennessee).

Our trip to Costa Rica was WONDERFUL!!! No complaints whatsoever! Our hotel was great, the people couldn't have been any nicer. We were very impressed with how clean everything was. The condition and lack of highways surprised us. We have never traveled to that part of the world before and it was quite an experience! I would recommend Casitas Eclipse to anyone going to Manuel Antonio! I would definitely stay there again! Pennsylvania .

We were in other hotel in Puerto Viejo and had a reserve for 3 days in the Cariblue, already paid to the travel agent. As it was raining a lot in the area, we decided to cancel the reserve 5! days before the check in. Cariblue hotel answered us that they never accept cancellations and always retain 100% of the payment. I went to the hotel and asked them personally if they were going to retain also the money for all the meals that they never would serve us. Yes, of course, they said. I called to the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) and explained the problem. ICT said us that this hotel refused to sign the Touristic Declaratory so that Cariblue hotel has ?its own rules? and can do what they want ? To sum up, if you have some problem in Costa Rica you are completelly helpless because ICT is an organization merely informative and hotels which did not sign the Touristic Declaratory can do what they want. Cariblue is one of these hotels, they are only interested in grasping your money and if there is any imprevisible incident you are lost.
